David Fischer is part of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble since the 2019/20 season and made his debut as Tamino in Mozart's Zauberflöte in 2021. Further roles at this house are Peppe in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, Malcolm in Verdi's Macbeth, Tybalt in Gounod's Roméo et Juliette, Harlekin in Ullmann's Kaiser von Atlantis, Alfred in J. Strauss's Die Fledermaus and Steuermann in Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer. He also made his debut as Tamino at the Salzburg Festival in 2022 and at the Salzburg State Theatre in 2021. In 2023, he sang Piquillo in Offenbach's Périchole at the Theater an der Wien.
In the concert scene, David Fischer will be recording the Evangelist in Bach's Johannes-Passion with the Thomanerchor Leipzig and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin under Andreas Reize in 2023. Furthermore, he will perform Schumann's Faust-Szenen with the Duisburger Philharmoniker under Axel Kober, he will be appearing again at the Salzburg Festival, this time as Agenore in Mozart's Re Pastore and he will be singing the Johannes-Passion again under Jörg Endebrock at St. Michael's Church in Hamburg. Further concerts will be at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam (Mozart's Krönungsmesse) and with the Hamburg Ballett (Bach's Matthäus-Passion).
Previous engagements led David Fischer under René Jacobs on an Asian and a Europe tour (Mozart's Don Giovanni / Telemann's Orpheus), on a Europe tour under Philippe Herreweghe (Mozart's c-Moll-Messe), under Sylvain Cambreling to the Berlin Philharmonie (Stravinsky's Pulcinella), to the Palace of Arts in Budapest under Ádám Fischer (Haydn's Schöpfung), with a Telemann-Programme under Howard Arman to the NFM Breslau, under Frieder Bernius on a German tour (Mendelssohn's Walpurgisnacht) as well as repeatedly to the NDR.
David Fischer maintains a close liaison with his Finnish Lied partner Pauliina Tukiainen, with whom he gave Lied recitals at the Swiss Festival classique des Haudères, in Geneva and at the Schumannfest Bonn. In 2022, the Lied duo debued at the Schaffhauser Meisterkonzerte with Schubert's song cycle Die schöne Müllerin. They will perform this piece again in 2023 at the Bonner Schumannfest.
